On the Harambe Incident

Since there are clearly not enough opinions about the harambe incident, I'll add mine. The brand of Internet mob justice that's forming is a pathetic excuse for an informed democracy. That people are so interested in spilling more blood in the form of harsh punishments towards the parents rather than asking whether or not we as a society are properly qualified to care for such creatures displays the ugly side of an ignorant brood that makes social media a bothersome place to be. What we see in this opinion polarization is what devolves us as an intelligent species. We should reflect and remember and assess when there's a loss of life, even if it's an animal, but justice is not served when we call for punishment. Justice is served when we prevent tragedies from happening again. And we only do that by being understanding and empathetic towards the situation and the people that experienced it first hand.
