The Empiricist
Would you rather the scriptures by which you live your life be proven false or to have never been written at all? Is a lie a lie if you don't know it's a lie? If you think it might be false, but you tell it anyway, does that make you a liar? For good reason, we (most of us) display respect for religious philosophies that are not our own. The sake of civility, of friendship, gives us a reason for oversight of the falsities we hear everyday. While a sense of community is extremely important for a productive society, in the interest of our own consciousness and mental health, we should question every theory, whether scientific or religious in nature, that can not be considered empirical.
We should remove all aspects of creation and allow observable science to dictate our beliefs in nature. Our belief systems: Scientific, religious, governmental, should be empirical.
